At a meeting of the Southland Acclimatisation Society last night Mr. John Friend "was appointed curator. There wcro twenty-six applicants. Mr. Friend has for a number of years acted as ranger to the society. Mr. W. F. Beck, a ranger for tho Otago Society, was appointed ranger.—Press Association. Messrs. W.
