/ RECOMMENDATIONS ADOPTED;
: - The monthly meeting' of tho Hospital Comraitteo was held yesterday afternoon, Sfhcn the following were present: Messrs. J. Godber (chairman).-H. Baldwin, B. R. .Gardener, A. H. Hindmarsh, F. T. Moore, ,L. M'Kenzie, G. Nash, J. Trevor, and the Kcv. H. Van Staveren. Tho following' recommendations from tho House and Finance Committee were adopted:— - V , , That Nurso Hudson be appointed charg« nurse at the Victoria Hospital, and Nurse Speedy be" appointed -relieving, sister 'for three months. :: That the resignations of Charge Nurses K. Carter, G. Houghton, and Kifching, be accepted ■ with, regret; :.:■■;.- ', That applications be' invited for- tho positions of. sisters in, chargo of ■ the maternity ward, and as honorary obstetrician., "•'.''-.'•
■ That Dr. Woodhouse. senior house.surgeori, bo appointed .acting-medical superintendent, Dr.. J.:. Ewart '■ bo • consulting riiedical superintendent, and Dr. Fyffe, leoturer. to tho:nursing classes during' Dr. Hardwick Smith's absence in England.
■'■ That, a practical mechanical engineer be appointed i to take charge of tho steam plant: and all electrical arid-mechanical appliances under .tho control of the board.. - That the;steam boiler imported for the Otaki Sanatorium, not now .required, be utilised at tho Nurses'- Home, Wellington Hospital,.and that it be fitted tip in oonnection with tho super heatcrs i at present in use, so asto obt-jin a plentiful supply' of hot water nt all times with o minimum of- attention; , ~ -\"
