Further evidence has been given at the inquiry into the death of Hugh Trevanion, who is alleged to have been murdered at Hove, Sussex, in September > last, Trevanion, whoso will, disposing of is disputed, was at. first supposed, to have died from an overdose of veronal, but his mother, suspecting m'urder,- had the body exhumed,, when it,was found, that 150 grains had,been taken an hour before death. ■■' ;" '•.-...■•■
It appears that after Trevanion had toured the world, ho formed a deep friendship for a man named A. E. Roe, and they lived together. Boa at'the first inquest testified that Trevanibn had said he had taken an overdose of,veronal. Trevanion was unconscious, before' tho doctors arrived, and died two days later. A post-mortem examination was .not; held, though deceased's mothor urged that there should be one. The' High .Court ordered a second , inquest.' ' ■'. ' ■ • , 'In her evidence the mother of'Trevanion said the doctors had- repeatedly warned Trevanion against the drug habit.' He lived much apart from his family. Mr. Muir, on behalf of the Crown, said Trevanion had been in the habit of taking a cachet containing 6even grains in order to induce sleep, and sometimes ,d second one.
