A new method designed to facilitate th» passage through tho Customs of imports from overseas has just been authorised by the Hon. F.'M. B. Fisher (Minister.;' for Customs). Yesterday he gave instructions to,tho Department to permit tho,; passing of ciilrios by the' Customs at any \ time within six days of the expeokd arrival or due date of arrival of oversea , vessels. As things stand at present heavy lots of cargo, have to;bo cleared at short notice on' tho arrival of vessels from London and elsewhere and a _ certain amount of. congestion results at tunes. , Henceforth merchants; who: bavo i received, , their invoicts by a previous mail will b*/; allowed to pass their entries before, tho Bonds actually'arrive.
