Mr. George Cowlishnwi managing director of tho'"Telegraph" Newspaper Company, Brisbane, died there from paralysis a few days ago. The'late Mr. Cowlishaw, who was.in his 72nd year, was one of a Sydney family. Ho went to Brisbane in tho early sixties, and about 1876 or 1877 was one of tho principal purchasers of tho "Telegraph." His natural business instincts and His ability served that newspaper in good,stead, and it rapidly grow and prospered. Mr.'Cowlishow| was at one' time a prominent architect. Four brothers survive him, the Hon. James, and Messrs. Thomas, Willianvand M. Cowlishaw, and two sisters, Mrs. Goorgo .Woolnough, Brisbane, and Miss Cowlishaw, Sydney.
