(Specially written for The Dominion.) . ' ! ' THURSDAY. Barley soup. . Curried mince. Potatoes. , French, beans. Spongo cake pudding. SPONGE CAKE PUDDING. Sir ounces rough puff or stort pastry, 2oz. sponge -cake, 1 egg, half-pint of milk, 1 tablcspoonful of jam, loz. castor sugar, a little flavouring essence. Line a pie-dish with the pastry and decorate the edges. Soak the cake in milk, put a layer of cake in tho dish, then a.- little jam; continue the layers until all the cake and jam is used. Beat up the egg, add the sugar, flavouring, and milk boiling. Pour into the dish; bako in a glaiy oven about 20 to 30 minutes.
