Two hundred and forty-eight fat cattle were penned, an increase of about fifty compared' with tho previous week. Tho yarding included some lines of good quality, but .as on January. 8 .tho. market : was weak, and showed no' improvement, prices all round being easier. A considerable number we're passed. A fair number of storo cattle were offered, but the demand was distinctly weaker, than at some recent sales, and, prices not reaching owners' reserve®, a considerable number were passed. The majority of tho cattle offered wero of medium quality. Yearlings made 355.; fifteen to eighteenmonth sorts, £2 7b. to £3 17s. 6d.; twoyear steers. £4 18s.; two-year heifers, £4 15s.'to £4 17s. 6d.; three-year steers, £7 55.;, three-year heifers, £5 7s. 6d. to £5 125.; and cows, £2 lis. to £7 fe.
