The Masterton Borough Council, at its meeting to-night,. morely received tho communication. At its meeting-.to-day the Masterton County Council, in reply to-a letter from the Minister for Internal Affairs, decided thij.t the proposal of the Patoa County Council for tho collection of rates on Native lands should bo recommended fo the Government. Tho council refused to endorse a proposal by the Whakatane County Council that provision should bo mado'for taking the cost of supervision from" Government grants. The County, Council to-day decided, after being interviewed by Mr. G. R. Sykes, M.P., to offer no objection to a Government grant of .£OOO for the AlfredtonWober Bond bolnj osponded by tho Aki.tio County. ConnolLj .
