PRICES OF PLANTS.
Sir,—Can you tell me why most things are dearer in New Zealand than in tho Old Country?.. I am a gardener, and have been out here two years, but although my wages, ard.'higher than they were at Home, I find I can get far less for my money: I had a good live-roomed house at 3s. Gd. a week; here I am paying 12s, for very inferior accommodation. But .what strikes mo-most is the out. rageous price asked for flower and vegetable plants in ' these southern regions.
