January 14, 0.40 a.m.) '. /■ ' , London, January 13. • The'latest development in connection with the Peace Conference rupture is that Sir Edward Grey, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, hag endeavoured to ■ induce Reschid. Pasha and Towfik Pasha, the Turkish dolegates,:not to break off negotiations. He stated that ho was prepared, as honorary president, to reopen 'the conference, but the Turks declined to meet the Allies again, declaring thtat thoy had reached the limit of their concessions. A Joint Note by the Powers will probably bo presented to Turkey to-day. It is understood that it will bo firm in tone, and will counsel her to give up Adrianople, reserving tho question of the Aegean Islands for settlement by tho Powers who will afford Turkoy financial assistance if she accepts tho proposition. Otherwise financial aid will ba withhold. TURKISH GRAND'COUNCIL TO MEET. REINFORCEMENTS AT CHATALJA. '■ (Rec. January 13, 11.25 p.m.) Constantinople, January ,13. Cabinet is summoning the Grand Connoil to decide the question of peace or war. Had she joined tho Allies they might have accomplished without bloodshed the task of freeing the Christians.
