A meeting convened by seven ratepayers to discuss tlio advisability of prooeoding with the installation of the tram systoin, almost unanimously decided toad- ■ here to tho scheme. Proceedings \vero very lively nt times, and tlio advocates of motor buses found difficulty in making themselves heard. No sound nrgumonts ivere advanced why tho original scheme should bo departed from, but on tho oontrary the speakers pointed out that noarly all' the trnm matorial was now on the ground. A motion in favour of asking tho council to take another poll was rejected, and an amendment carriod by a huge majority urging tho oouncil to prosecute tlio woric vigorously.
