Dalgety and Company, Limited, report:—We held our fortnightly auction 6alo yesterday afternoon, when wo offered the usual quantities of ekine,. hides, and tallow, in addition to a few oddmentß of wool. Tho attendance of buyers was small, and, as a result, competition was not very keen, prices were firm at )as,t sale's rates for wool and sheepskins and calfskins, but or hides showed a fimllno of id. per lb. Wool (oddments only):—Crossbred fine, lOd. to 101 d.; croßsbrcd medium, Bid. to 9Jd. ; lambs, 7jd. to 93d.; dead, Bid. to 9a.; pieces and bellies, 53d. to 7td.j locks, Sd. to 5Jd. Sheepskins: Crossbred fine,-Bid.; crossbred medium, 7d. t0.81d.; crossbred, inferior and damaged, 4Jd. to 6id.; pelts, 4Jd. to 6id.; lambs, 6d. to 7jd.; dead, 6d. to Cid.;. pelts, salted, 2s. M.'each. .Hidcß: Ox medium. Murray, Koberts, and Co., Ltd., report:—We offered a, catalogue ot Kfl hides and 250 calfskins yesterday to an average attendance of buyeno. Owing to tho scarcity of- room in store on account of the late wool solo, we were unable to show skins, and these are held over for sale on January 24. Prices, were'.not' so full as of late, and may be quoted a halfpenny lower for hides, damaged and slippy hides selling correspondingly lower. Calfskins were.a 6ltade easier also.- Ox hides, heavy, Sid. to Aid. per lb.; ox hides,, medium.
