SHIRKERS TRACED. .. Br Telegraph—Press Aesoolation-OopjrUht Melbourne, January 10. When cadets born in 1898 were registered for military training, ten thousand names wero missing. The Bohcmo has now been operating eighteen months, and about four thousand of these 6hirkcrs havo been traced. The registrations total 35,590, excluding tho militia existing before. Cadets numbering 17,288 were exempted from drills owing to their living far away. Eighty-three per cent, of the cadets were medically fit, and 10,854 oro actually training. Tho registrations of senior cadets total 148,945, and there are in training 90,190. Tho medically fit number 91 per cent. • The junior cadets number 41,230.
