Messrs. -' Weddel's annual report on the frozen meat • trade states that owing to trade prosperity an improved consumption of meat is likely in 1913, but there is unlikely, to be a material increase in'the exporting capacity of Australia^ New Zealand, and South America. Domestic supplies are also almost certain to contract; and a general shortage is probable unless .foot and mouth disease forces the British farmers to kill. There is overy indication that the demand for fresh meat has nearly overtaken the world's production. '.'■■
