Regulations havo been introduced revolutionising tho ealo of. meat. It is provided that butchers' shops must havo all external openings covorod with wife gauze, and that the doors must bo kept closed except when persons enter and leave. Meat must be wrapped in clean paper, and not come into contact with writing or printing. ' The inspector under tho regulations ifl empowered to order that a stono or concrete floor shall bo laid, with a view to preventing the ontrahco of rats. ' Nobody is allowed to hold in tho month any implement used for tho preparation of meat, or any label or article used in wrapping or addressing moat, and nobody is ponnitted'to sell meat returned by a oustomer. Spitting in butchers' shops is also prohibited.
