CRICKBT, TOUR OF TROTT AND TEAM,• TAPANUI MATCH. ' (By Tolegraph.-Pre:a Association.) Dunedin, January 10. The South Melbourne cricket team commenced a match yesterday at Tapanui against a Central Otago Association team S 1 .twenty-two players. The local men batted first, and scored 131. .-South Melbourne mado 189 in their first innings (Giiler 03, Kyle 34, Kenny 32). , Central'Otago mado 151 for' 17 wickets in their second venture (F. Usher 51, R. Edio 22, G. Edio 10). The innings was then declared closed, leaving tho visitors to get 97 to win. The visitors made 91 for four wickets (Scott 37, Deas 29). The matoh was, therefore, declared drawn. NOTES ON THE TOUR. _ The manager of tho South Melbourne team telegraphs to The Dominion as follows:—Tho Dunodin match ws abandoned on account of tho wot weather.
