Carol Frederick Gqldammer, aged 8,4 years, a widower, who was a visitor hero from Dunedin, met with a fatal trap aocident on Pakowhai Road, four miles from , Hastings, last'evening. In opmpariy with friends, ho was driving towards Mteanoe, when the horse'shied at a mob of cattle and jerked the trap backwards. Goldammer was thrown on his head, and died' in a fow , minutes.
