John* ston and Co. and'the Wellington Stoau; Ferry Co., - and ■ it was announced yestew day that the steamer Awaroa would leavo Wellington next Wednesday for Nelson and Motueka, leaving Motucko. ca tho return kip on Thursday. She is 140 ft. long, 26ft. 4in. beam, and: 13ft. and, draws about Bft. of water. Her. engines are by tho Wallsond ShipW&y 00., MSland, and are triple expansion, Jtho dmmeters of tho cylinder being 18in.i 21 n., and 35in, Tho Awaroa has a largo cabin and dining-saloon < aft, ' with b.' ladies cabin 1 on the upper-deck. A wcll-furnißU-ed suioko-room is placed ontho.forwarddeck. Electrlo lignt is fitted, and steam steering gear employed. " •>• ,■ The Awaroa lias a hold forward capablo of holding 200 tons of general'cargo. Slio can steam 12i-knots when i working at full pressure. Prior to -being purchased by the. Ferry Co., in August of last-year, tlio Awaroa was employed and owned hv tho Kainafa Stranisbip Co., Auckland. '■ ■■■ Messrs.
