Evidence, of an extraordinary character, continues to be giveii- at tho trial at Agra of Mr. Clark, of the Medical Department- ot, Allahabad, Mrs. Fulham, who was charged with-having murdered Mrs. Clark, and also Mr. Fulham, husband of the female prisoner. Clark read a statement that he was requested to bring Mr. Fulham from Meerut to Agra in September, 1911, the Medical Board- having certified that he was- suffering from general paralysis of the insane. Clark consulted Captain Dunn (who is now in England, but will give evidence later). Captain Dunn advised injections of ether,: digitalis, and strychnine. The injections were given, and Fulham died shortly afterwards,Clark accounted for 'tho'possession of gelseminum and cocaine by naming patients whom he had been treating.- ' Tile prosecution produced a letter showing that Clark had visited Meerut, on June 15, and another from Mrs, Fulham, who, in writing later, asked if the new powders were'tasteless, as her husband had refused.- to.take his food with the former powders. ' '....'• • ! Another letter ; l described vomiting by Mr. Fulham, arid recounted the hospital's opinion of tho case.- Mrs; Fulham : ''But you.and I know." Later sho complained that drugs for producing the symptom's of a.heat, stroke had not raised ■ the temperature; : : i" ; (~ ' ,• » ■Writing in ..August, Mrs.' Fulham -said: "It is hard for me, Harry, darling. I only wish it was all over." Iter .'she wrote; "God give the.strength to bear tho cruel, bitter blow- or disappointment of parting. Aftfer all, I have done it isn't inv fault, Harry, dearie, simply fate." Mrs. Fulham had previously applied for permission to marjy Clark, but yesterday withdrew her request, stating that she did not wish to marry him. * ■
