A Wellington Wedding. On Tuesday afternoon ■at St. Peter's Church the marriage took place of Miss Haybittle, elder daughter oi Mr. and Mi's. l'\ VV. liaybittlo, Wellington, to Jlr. Kidston, son of Mr. W. ±1. Kidston, of Rose Bank, Helensburgh. The-officiating clergyman was Archdeacon Harper, and Mr. bhort played the "Wedding ilaroh," The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ninon and Bilk,- , with embroideries of small pearls and draperies of beautiful lace. Her exquisite veil, worn by many brides, was ot very old Carrickinacross lace, and w ; as lent by an intiuiato friend. She wore a wreatn of orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of white flowers. Her gift from ilr. Kidston was a pondant watch, set with diamonds, The best man was Mr. Ruddock, of Napier, and the groomsmen, Mr. 11. l'inlayson, Mr. Hortou, and Mr, J. Andersoh, of Christohurch. Her bridesmaids were' Miss Nola Haybittle, Miss Cecilia Kidston, Miss Doris Wilberfoss, and' Miss Ulsie Gray. Their frocks, of pale grey ninon and satin, were draped, the fold caught, with tiny bunches of roses and i'orgi.'t-me-nots. Little posies of the same flowers were placed on the pale blue un-der-briras of their black hats, which .were wreathed with black tulle'ruchings, and they carried little Victorian bouquets of blue and pink sweet peas. Mrs. Haybittle, mother ot the bride, wore a frook of stona grey silk-poplin, braided with silk of the same tone.' and with pipings of pale blue, iler grey not had a bund of rose pink embroidery, and plumes, shading from blue to grey. Mrs. Kidston, mother of the bridegroom, who, with MissKidston, came from Scotland to be present at- the wedding, wore a goivn of amethyst crepe de chine, embroidered with steel beads, and a grey hat with plumes of the same shade. After'the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Kidston lett by" motor on their wedding, journey. ' A wedding of interest took place at St. Mark's Church yesterday, when Mr. Hugh Gilmer, eldest son of Mr. W. Gilmer, of Castle Blayney, Ireland, was married to Miss Daisy Bell, daughter of Mr. J. . T. Bell, Wellington. The' officiating clergyman was the Rev. A; M. Johnson, vicar of St. Paul's. The bride woro a gownof cream.duchess satin,- trimmed .with Mechlin lace, with the usual- veil and coronet of orange blossom. Her. bouquet was of white, heath, carnations,', and roses. The bridesmaids were Miss J. Bell and Miss A. Rogers. They wore gowns of pale, pink ninon, large white hats, with clusters of pink rosebuds. Mr. J. Gilmer, brother of the bridegroom,! was best manj and Jlr. C. Haig was groomsman. After tho'ceremony tho guests motored to "Clovelly," the residence of the bride's parents, where a reception was held. Wedding at Petone. Yesterday afternoon Miss Rhoda Eiddler, youngest daughter of Mr. T. Riddler, of Petone, was married to Mi. John Henry Baxter, son of the late Mr. Baxter, of Victoria, Australia. The ceremony was performed at St. Augustine's Church by the Rev. G. B. Stevenson. The bride, who was given Away by her father, wore a frock of white satin charmeuse, trimmed with chiffon and silk lace, and carried a bouquet of lilies and carnations. Miss Lila Maynard was bridesmaid, her frock being of white embroidered muslin, with a largo white hat, trimmed with shaded roses. Her bouquet' was of pink Bweet peas and carnations. Tho best man was Mr. S. E. Eiddlfcr. After the ceremony a reception was held at tho home of tho bride's father. The bridb received many handsome presents, amongst them being a case of fruit knives from the officials and staff of the Union Bank, of which the bridegroom is a member. Mrs. Mitford and her son have gone to stay at Paekakariki for a few weeks. The Hon. ; A. L. Herdman and Mrs. Herdman arrived from the south by the Taluue yesterday. Lieutenant Standish and Mr 9. Staidish are passengers for New Zealand by,tho Maloja. They arrive ;in.Auckland, on January 17.. ' Mrs. and Miss Massey will go north with the l'rimo Minister on Thursday. They will visit Aucklarid first and later on proceed to Rotorua. Mr. and Mrs. Summorell, from Masterton, arc staying at Day's Bay House. Mr .and Mi's. Hannah and the Misses Hannah arrived yesterday by-the Maunganui from Sydney. , . Dr. and Mrs. A. Martin have returned from Titahi Bay. • •- , Mrs. Gerald Stead, from Napier, goes south to-night to stay with Mrs. Stead, "Strowan Park." The marriage of Miss Plevna Dowsett, niece of Mr. C.
