THE DANNEVIRKE SHOW
A POPULAR FIXTURE. It is scarcely more than three years since the Dannevirke A. and P. Association came into being, yet within that space of time its annual fixture has won extromo popularity and come .to be recognised as one of tho most prominent of the North Island district shows. This year marks an, important stage in its history. New : grounds, embracing some 26 acres, have been purchased and equipped at considerable expense, and it. is believed that.as the result of much careful thought and planning out,, tho arrangements generally will commend themselves to exhibitors and tho visiting p'ulic: alike. -'.Mention may be made of a fine grandstand now practically completed, desigaed to seat nearly a thousand people, and provided underneath with luncheon rooms, well-appointed, kitchens, cloak-rooms, etc. ' Also, of an unusually roomy oval for tho various competitions, stock-judging rings> ample pen and stall accommodation for cattle, sheep; and horses, measuring and weighing stand.?,, cattle-wash, etc. ■ In fact, although the time occupied iu actual preparation has been short, few points have been lost sight of which experience has shown ta be desirable,,or necessary in a wellequipped and up-to-date ground/ this year, moreover, a two days' show is being inaugurated. The dates, as will be seen by advertisement, .are February 12 and 18, and entries close on January, 29. On the day following ■'. the show the annual ram fair-will be held. ~ _■ • •Prize schedules are available, and intending exhibitors may sbtnin copies upon application to :the secretary.
