County show that the losses of sheep during the winted snowstorms were far heavier .than was supposed. • Woodbahk Station turn- ' ed out 12,000,' sheep last year, and only 8000 were mustered for shearing. Tho Clarence Block of St. James mustered only 2500 out: of 8000, and the Acheron Block of St. Helens 8000 from 13,000. Settlers at Glynn Hope lost 1 half of their, flocks. At Upper Wainu the losses reach-ed'a-third; of the.total. Shearing is in-complete,-so full returns are unavailable, but the stations which have shorn indicate' tho/magnitude of tho losses. : !
