Otago's first innings, which 'stood at 53 for one wicket was continued. Tuckwell (24 not out) was accompanied to the wickets by Eainsden, who took the last two balls of Kyle's incompleted over, Tuckwell hit Giller's first ball to Kyle at first slip and retired without adding •to his score. ■■;• ' M'Farlane joined Eamsden and brought 60 up by cutting Giller to the rails. Half an hour's fairly "slow play saw 70 up, but four Tun 9 later, Eamsden put one up to Giller, who - made no mistake with the catoh. , Siedoberg,came in and at once pulled Giller to leg for two. MTarlana then out Kyle for three, and Siedoberg twica drove M'Cormack (who had relieved Kyle) to the boundary.
