Although official confirmation is lacking, it is understood that Mr. H. P. Barry has advised the directors (in London) of his desire to relinquish office: as superintendent .of the Waihi mine at the close of the present year, and that it is his intention to rotiro iuto private life at Cambridge. : Mr,' Barry has occupied the position of superintendent; to tho company for upwards, of 17 yoars, and, during his period in office,' the' mino grew, from a comparatively small concern to one of tho world's leading bullion producers.
