FEILDING NEWS.
A start was made during the latter end! bf last week with harvesting operations in the Sandon district. • Adjutant Armstrong and Mrs. Armstrong, of the Salvation Army, have been transferred from Feilding to Timaru, arid leave next Wednesday week. They will be succeeded here by Adjutant Sanson and Mrs. Sanson, from Hastings: Following on a long illness, the death occurred at Halcombo early this morning of Mrs. Leapel, wife of Mr. Louis Leapel, in her 27th year. She was a daughter of the late Mr. William Walsh, who. was. a well-known resident of the Marten nnd Holcombe districts. A telegram was sent by Mr. A. K. Drew, council clerk at Sandon, to Mr. E. Newman, M.P., laying tefpre him the complaint of tho Sandon peoplo regarding the curtailment of tho mail services. Mr. Newman has forwarded a reply that he will make representations to the Post-master-General, and urge that the Bulls service bo restored.
