Following upon the rain of last week, it .will furnish all tho sustonance required for pastures and crops, and will ensure bright prospects for the autumn. The results ;of tho milk tests for the month of December, conduotcd under tho auspices of the,' Masterton' Cow-testing Association, are just to hand. In tho herd averages tho highest figures werot—No. 1: 13001b. milk, test 4, butter-fat 54.5; No. 2; 10471b. milk test 4.1, butter-fat 42.4; No. 3: 0031b., test 3.7, butter-fat 37. ■ Dr. Sprott, Bishop of Wellington, conducted a service in tho Churoh of tho Epiphany at Kuripuni to-night. Bishop Sprott is on a pastoral visit to the district.- .1 A number of those prominently associated with tho petroleum industry in Tarannki visited the Mangaone oil-wells; today, and were shown over the works by Mr. F. Cassin, the managing director. : "Tho schedules for the next show of tho Masterton A. and P. Association are now being issued. A number of now and interesting features have been added' to the schedule this year. At a special meeting of the directors of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society, held °n Saturday last, an interim balancesheet for the recent sports meeting was presented.
