j' V'. -v." .- AN INTERESTING ANALYSIS. .' An interesting has been mad« by Mr. J. R. Collins, Commonwealth. Commissioner of Pensions, of the invalid pensions ; granted during a period of. 12 months. It shows that 238 worn granted to invalids between tho, ages -of 16 years and 20 jrcars, 526 to invalids between tho . ages of 20 years and 30 yeans, 536 between 30 years and 40 years, 764 between 40 years ■ and 50 years, 1673 between 50 years and 60 years, .685 between 60 years and 70 years, and ! 112 between 70 years atid 89years. It i will bo seen that 2064 pensions were granted to invalids under 50 years ■ of age, and 2470 to invalids over that age. Mr. Collins stated that invalid peusiohs ■ were, to a considerable extant, early old nge pensions.' A number over 60 years of nge, who were really qualified for old ago pensions, had been granted in.*?; valid, pensions on account of difficulty-in proving.the ago and residonoo qualification For the old ago pension.
