Tho symptoms did not develop for some 12 or 15 hours afterwards, but in several instances tho sickness was of a violent and tievero nature, but fortunately without any fatal result so far. Amongst tho .victims were Mrs. G. M. Gardner and her w n !««« s >, M isses Hilda and Dulcio Kimble. Ihe _threo»wero very ill, especially Miss.Dulcie Kimblo, but all are improving now. Investigation toy . the ■ health', inspector did not reveal any cluo as to the cause of the outbreak., 'The premises where the ico creams'were manufactured and sold showed that everything was clean and the.strictest cara was taken. Doctors and chemists havo been busy all day yesterday arid to-day treating some scores of people who are alleged to bo suffering from ptomaine poisoning in a mild form through having partaken of ice,cream.at local seaside picnics.
