MR LLOYD OEORQE AND THE DOCTORS. LAY CONTROL OBJECTED TO. By Telegraph-Press London, January 2,' Mr. Lloyd George (Chancellor of tho Exchequer), addressing the Insurance Advisory Committee, said that whils-tho public regarded the revised terms to the doctors as generous, the doctors' attitude was. a tacit admission that tho terms fairly met the circumstances. They latterly had shifted the controversy from the question of remuneration to something called "lay control" No other profession objected .to administrative control by a lay body responsible for pay. monts. THE INSURANCE , PANELS. London, January 2. At least eight thousand doctors oro required to work tho Insurance Act, and about 6300 haTO accopted servico. Tho closing of tho panels has teen ex. tended to Saturday. In Wales 937 doctors have joined the panels. Outaido dootors announce that thoy will treat pationts at Bs. 6d. per head. Tho Welsh Commissioners have intimated that "insureds" i must chooso the panol doctor. Tho majority of tho Scottish panola will work on a competitive basis.
