Br Teleerantt-Preuj Asooclatlon-OoDrrieht London, January 3. • A number of members of the Amalgamated Engineers' Society forcibly evicted the members of the executive from tho union heafjqaartera. Four wore injured. A SUMMARY EJECTION. (Rec, January 3, 9.20 p.m.) London, January 3. ,Tho Engineers' Council was about te begin business whon a number of members broke into the building and forced novon of tho councillors towards tho stairs. Four wore violently rolled down twenty fltono stops, and two of .these wore badly injured. Tho Provisional Executive authorised tho eviction. No machinery exists to deal with the situation. Tho deadlock is unparalleled in the history of unionism. It was previously reported that tho Executive Council of the Amalgamated Society of Engineors has summoned tho branoh delegates to rescind tho alleged unconstitutional alterations to tho rules Tho delegates met and suspended tho wholo cquncil, and, pending a fresh ballot, appointed a provisional executive, upon which tho council immediately suspended tho branches, who aro puzzled to know which of the rival councils they aro to obey.
