Rancitikei, Manawatu. Hawke's Bay, ana Auoluand distriots will close at 6.30 a.m. There will not be any clearances of the city receivers or deliveries by letter-carriers on the above-named day. On Tuesday, Deoember- 31, there will be a delivery by the letter-carriers in the letter-carriers' room, on the first-floor entrance, Featherston Street, from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m., and the Parcels Department will be open from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m.; also a delivery over the public counter at the Chief Poßt Office from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m. of correspondence addressed to tho Post Office only. On Tuesday, December 31, extra clearances will bo made as follow: All city receivers will be oleaxed at 6 p.m.; Wellington South, Kilbirnie, and Uataitai receivers at 5 p.m., and suburban ones at 4.30 p.m. All books and sample-packets and newspapers for places within the Dominion must be posted half an hour before the ordinary letter-mail closes. Unices otherwise specified, registered letters and parcels-post packages must be handed in and money-orders obtained one hour before the ordinary mail clo6es. All the principal malls by train and steamer close at Te Aro and Oourtenay Pla-ce Poet Offices at the same hours ee at the Chief Post Office, with ths exception that there is no la/te-fee clearance, and that mails by the ferry steamers for southern offices, olso mails for Auckland and Auckland district by second main trunk train close at 6 p.m. D.
