THE PRIMITIVE CHIDLEY.
IN TROUBLE ONCE MORE. By TelecraMi—Frees Association—Cocyriciit (R-eo. December 27/ 8.55 p.m.) Sydneyj December 27. W. J. Chidley, of "The Answer" fame, has again been in trouble. He was remanded to-day on a ohargo of offensive behaviour in a public place. He paraded the streets in.' primitive dre&s, and addressed crowds of people.
At the beginning of October last, Chidley, the "Simple Life" advocate, who was . confined in. an asylum on the medical ground that he was suffering from "systematised delusional insanity," was released from retraint under a guarantee, backed by two. prominent citizens of Sydnoy, that he would discontinue the expounding of his theories in public places, and walking about the streets in abbreviated costume. The prominent citizens referred to have, apparently, forfeited their guarantee deposits. The detention of Chidley in the asylum created considerable public feeling in Sydney, and the. agitation reached the Legislature.
