PLUCKY RESCUE OF A GIRL.
AT SOME COST TO THE RESCUER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) , Auckland, December 2C. A waterside worker named Robert' Johnson sustained injuries to his ribs when rescuing a girl who fell off the Devonport ferry wharf to-day, in the holiday rush. The girl missed her footing and fell into the harbour. Johnson dived in, and with. the assistance of another man, brought her to safety. Iu doing so h« must-have collided with a pile supporting the wharf. When taken to the hospital it was found that Johnson had several ribs "fractured and a split knee.
