A magnificent programme) is promised. THE NEW THEATRE. There will 1,0 a complete change of programme to-day at the Now Theatre continuous pictures. Prominent anion;,' , the series Will ljeV a Kalem masterpiece drama, "The "Gun Smugglers," reported as an exciting adventure. The other subjects will include: "Moro Precious than Gold" (Edison drama), "A Cowboy Lover" (Vita drama), "Queen of- the Kitchen" (Kalem comedy.l, "l'rench Alpine Manoeuvres," "Hawltcyo as Coastguard," and . three pantomimes, -"Palace of Mystery," "Robinson Crusoe," and "Puss in J3oots." ' SHORTTS' PICTURES. . A special Christmas programme was ' presented at Sliortts'. Theatre yesterday afternoon and , evening. To-day entirely ■new pictures'are to be introduced. "Captain Barnacle's Legacy," one of the new. films, relates an exciting story of an unexpected legacy,and. the difficulties the beneficiary meets-'when he goes to collect it. "The Bond of Miisic" tells of the friendship of a soldier and an old 'cellist, which arose from their common love for music. The friendship'is sorely tried, but ■the soldier' is "able to prove- himself' u valuable and true friend at last. Another exciting tale is entitled "The Wheels ot' .Destruction." It concerns twio racing motorists, who are rivals for the hand of .the same lady, a steering wheel that was tampered with, a smash ill the race, and explanations afterwards. There are also descriptive and comedy films on tlio programme. THE EMPEESS THEATRE.. Thronged sessions have been- the rule at the Empress Theatre continuous pictures during the past two daj's. The new programme to-day will include •this-'Vt.B. Company's latest dramatic sensation, "The Musketeers of Pig .-Alley," an, exclusive film. . Much has appearar in'tiie American papers from time Mb; time - concerning the workings of the/"pushes,.", or-gang-sters, of the big cities,.b'iit the public,has gained only a vagiie idea of:.the actual facts. Big business was recorded at the People's Picture Palace in Manners Street on.Tuesday, and by the crowds attending tho performances from 11 a.m. to ll'p.m. it was evident that the continuous picture show at this was very popular.
