A well-known sportsman, who is continually watching the omens for guides, to lucrative investment, on Christmas Evo supported Santa Rosa and Waiorewa for the Auckland double. The omen which ho saw was this: A motor-car containing a man dressed as Santa Clans passed by. at the identical moment that he was engaged talking to Mr. P. Hall, owner of Waiorewa, and the sportsman was superstitious enough to accept this as an augilry of the success of the combination named. :".' •'
