Hundreds of touts were present to .witness the final gallops. Most of the work was registered on the course proper outside tho trestles. Unless otherwise specified that was tho track used.
■' Uoldsizewas first out, and spurted four furlongs in 51sec. ■ Royal Soult did twice round the tan at half-pace, and was very scratchy. . Masterpiece finished better than Hcatherbrao and Brown Owl, the last-named two being together at the end of the milo new post in lmin. 45 l-sseo. Tact, Kakama, and Antoinette were in that order at almost the stand, at the end of six furlongs in lmin, 19sec.-a good gallop. Oxenhope did five furlongs m lmin. Bsec - ' ™ ~, ~ Los Angelos and Bon Ton did a mile and a quarter in 2min. 18sec, tho final round in 2min. 3 l-ssec. The former was easily holding his companion at the finish.
Bleriot, going easy, was alongside Wab orewa at the of six furlongs in lmin. 211-ssec.
Nightwatch was too good for Glenfinnan over half a mile done in 50 3-osec,
Culprit pleased better than Bon Reve at the end of six furlongs in lmin.. 201-5 sec. '
Santa Rosa did a round on the tan in lmin. 55sec, and Soltano beat Winning Way over six furlongs in lmin. 19 l-ssee. La Rcina, with the assistance of Mcrrimax and Lady Gladstone at intervals, did a round on the tan in lmin. 564-5 sec.
Paoli beat Marconi over four furlongs in 53 4-ssec. Jack Delaval did the same distance in 5252 C.
Bobrikoff did a round on the tan )n lmin. 57 3-. r >sec, moving lazily. Mowbray was in front of Martol at the end of five furlongs in lmin. 7 3-ssec. The latter took lmin. 8 l-ssec.
Wee Olga was better than Sedition in a round on the tan in lmin. 54 2-ssec. The Hague, Soultikoff, and . Landrail finished in that.order at the end.of five furlongs from the new post .in lmin. ssec.
Potoa and Domino were together three, lengths in front of Taketumu at the end of six furlongs, covered in lmin. 20see. Peg did five furlongs in lmin. 10 3-ssec., Labour Day did half-pace on the tan, and Silverlyte, Sea Pink, and Colleen Dim finished in that order at the end of seven furlongs in linin. 35sec. .
Koran did half-pace work on the tan, Our King five furlongs fr»m tho new nost in lmin. 4sec, and Golden Loop was better than Don Quex over a round in 2 min. 6 Msec.
Semolina beat Monorail over a mile, the last seven .furlongs being cut out in lmin. 344-ssec.
Ventura and Jason, separately, did easy work.
Waterworks'jumped a-couple of hurdles in good-style.
Caher Davon was better than Our Queen over'six furlongs in lmin. 21sec, and Goldfinder was a length in front of Midnight Snn at. the end of a round on the tan,, done in lmin. 518-sseo. First Wairiki did seven furlongs on the sand in.lmin. 32sec, Ngatimaru a mile on the tan, the last six furlongs in lmin. 251-ssec.- '■'■■
