The satisfaction felt not only, by the i people of Brecon, but by all men and women interested in good municipal work, in the Mayoralty of Miss Morgan was well expressed, when the- town's first woman Mayor was presented with her portrait, painted by Mr. John Cooke, of-Chelsea, says "The Queen." Mayor of Brecon, 1910-11, by 916 women to commemorate her being the first woman in Wales to be elected Mayor, and. by her given to the. borough of Brecon."

When the ceremony took place so many people wished to participate in it that between three and four hundred had to bo turned away- The Mayoress (Mra. Conway Lloyd) presided, and the unveiling itself was performed by the Lord Lieutenant and Lady Glnnusk, who, drawing a6ide flags—the dragon of Wales and the Union Jack—disclosed the picture. Lady Glanusk 'also presented Miss Morgan with a beautifully-bound album in crimson morocco, which contained an illuminated address signed by the subscribers, amongst whose names were Lady Glanusk, Mrs. J.
