OMINOUS, NEWS FROM CHINA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright St. Petersburg, December 22. Advices from Mukden state that Chinese merchants have received from tho Peking Chamber of Commerce a circular urging them to contribute to the war fund against Russia. Other telegrams indicate that the agitation is serious. British and Russian firms are asking for reinforcement of the railway guard.
