TRAIN AND FERRY MANAGEMENT.
Sir,—To-day (Friday) the • New Ply-mouth-Wellington mail train was delayed on the journey owing to various-causes, and arrived , at Thorndou a few minutes before eight o'clock.
■Something like 100 passengers for the Maori, many of whom had to go for south to sse their people, had to hurry for the boat. 1 understand threo lucky men who' caught a taxi were ab!c to go on board the Maori;' the rest were shut out. They tried the Tniwevnj (here was 110 accommodation there—the ves.-ol was overcrowded already. Had thu Maori waited ten minutes all could have got aboard. The tI.S.S. Co. apparently were not advised that the train was delayed. We are stranded in Wellington. , Those who wont in shakedowns in the Taraweru will be stranded in-.Christchurch until Monday—all for the sake of a little management.—l'am, etc., .A TBAVELLEE,
