The annual report of the Postal Department shows that during the year sfiG million letters and postcards passed through tho post, an increase of 70 million. The average is 95 letters and postcards per head of population. The report states that the Government still strongly, favours 0 State-owned Atlantic cable, and advocates calling a conference. New Zealand approves of cooperation in the matter, but Canada's attitude is indefinite.
