(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell; S.M.) FINED £20. BETTING CHARGE AGAINST NEW. At the Magistrate's Court on Saturday, Mr. W. G. Riddoll, S.M,, delivered Kβ decision m the case in which Arthur New was charged with having made a bet with Winn at Plimmer's Steps His Worship said that ho had come to the conclusion that New was guilty of the charge against him. Hβ fined the defendant £W, the minimum penalty. OTHER CASES. was toed £1 for having befell in the Clyde Quay Hotel after closing time, and 10s. for having given a wrong name when the police asked him vrho he was. Joseph Speller was fined 103. for inBobnety. .
