ONSLOW COUNCIL.

Tho monthly meeting of the Onelotf Borough Council' was held last evening. Tho Mayor, Mr. F. Holdsworth, presided. . The district fund account, amounting 6o <£2G5 Gs. 3d., was passed for payment. A deputation, headed by Mr. E. S. Kelly, waited upon tho council in'support of a petition for improving access -to Victoria track from the. KaiwaTra end. It was pointed out that the track was much used by pedestrians. In reply it was mentioned that there would, be great difficulty in obtaining land to cut the path through. Tho Mayor suggested that if tho Education Board , were successful in obtaining a new school site, then the council might bo allowed to use the school track, which gives access to Victoria track.

Although the council were in accord with the petition, they did not at present seo their way to better tho petition.
