KARORI SCHOOL.

The Karori School children began their holidays at noon yesterday, after a prizegiving function presided over by the Rev. J. 11. Clark, chairman of the ICarori School Committee. In'his address to the parents and children, Mr. Chirk congratulated the pupils and teachers on the very fine record of tho year's work. The cricket team was specially praised for its success so ftyr this season—not having lost one match. The captain (James Russell) • was complimented on his successful teams for years past, and a special prize was awarded to him in recognition of his interest in the sports of the school. The prizes were provided by contributions. from the parents nnd friends. Tho committeo donated the dux medal, and an anonymous donor kindly presented the conduct medal for boys for Standards VI-V. The thanks of the committee are again due to Mrs. Burns for providing tho prizes for conduct in Standards 11-I and the infant rooms. Tho pupils of tho different standards presented their teachers with mementoes of appreciation. Before closing the ceremony, cheers were Riven for the committee, Mr. Clark, and the headmaster. Mr. Bennett took the opportunity of expressing tho best thanks of the teachers and pupils to Mr. Clark for his efforts on behalf of tho interests of tho school.
