THE NEW GOVERNOR
TO-DAY'S CEREMONY. LORD LIVERPOOL WELCOMED AT AUCKLAND. A HEARTY RECEPTION. The Governor-designate, the Earl of Liverpool, with the Countess of Liverpool and suito will arrive in Wellington by special train from Auckland at midday to-day. . His Lordship will Iμ welcomed on arrival at Tliorndon Station by the Mayor and councillors of Wellington, and then ho will drive by motor-car to Government House. The order of tho events of the day is as follows:— 12.30 p.m.—Civic welcome at Thorndoa .Station. 2.45 p.m.—Procession leaves' Government House for Government Buildings, via the following Streets:—Kent Terrace, Vivian Street, Cuba. Street, Manners • Street, Willis Street, Lambton Quay. 3 p.m.—Swearing-in ceremony at Government Buildings. •' The return journey after the complo- ; tion of tho ceremony - will be via the fol« lowing Streets:—Lambton Quay, Willis ' Street, 'Manners Street, Courteuay Place, Kent Terrace. As Lord- Liverpool leaves Government ' House to set out for Government Building a salute will bo fired by tho Royal ■■ New Zealand Artillery, and after his Ex- ~ cellency has taken the Oath at 3 p.m., ~ a salute will bo fired by H.M.S. Cambrian. A Squadron, 6th Mounted Rifles, will. furnish tho escort to the Governor's car-.,i riago in its progress through tho streets.' , The Veterans are to assemble at the Government Buildings at 2.30 pii. to-day..;.: A. place is to be reserved for them' in, tho etand. If they wear their medals or ■ > ribbons, they will be admitted to the re- ' served stand. t . The following troops will be on parade, this afternoon:— ; , ' ' ; ' '.' Senior Cadets in Areas 17, 18, 19. ,• E and H Companies of No. 2 Battalion, : ninth (Wellington. East.Coast Regiment)/ and the whole of the Senior Cadets ia Area 20. A Squadron, 6th (Manawatu) Mounted Rifles. • Royal New Zealand Artillery.. This parade will count as a half-daf , parade.
