TRACK FORM AT ELLERSLIE.

COMPLETE NOTES. (By TelegTapu.—Special Correspondent.) Auckland, December 17. The writer of "Training Notes" in the "Star" to-night says:—The arrival of a. number of the southern horses has given added interest to the work on tho tracks at Ellerslie, and the touts were rewarded with a lot of interesting tests this 'morning. Tho weather was fine and the outside of tho courso proper was open for the first time, but a number of horses were 'exercised on the tan, and a few on the, sand. The work on, the different tracks was as follows: —

On the Course Proper. W. Gall gave tho proceedings a start by sending Goodwin Siuids six. furlongs, which she covered in lmin. 25 2-ssec. Kakama (alone) '-jumped off" on top of the hill, and spurted four furlongs in, oiieo., liangirou taking SSsec. for a similar journey. Heatherbrao was going easier than Winning Way at the end of six furlongs run in lmin. 21 l-ssc=. P. Stenuing's pair—Jack Delaval and Devastation—were associated with Tangiwai over six furlongs. Jack Delaval lost two or three lengths at the start, but had the best of it at the finish from Tangiwai. Devastation was cut out a furlong from home, and finished three lengths away. The journey occupied lmin. 21spc. . The Cup candidate, Masterpiece (C. Brown), had Brown Owl as a companion over a round, which they ran in 2min. 6 l-ssec., the former finishing the stronger. The half-mile was run in 55 sec, the five furlongs in. lmin. 9 3-ssec, and tho six furlongs in lmin. 22 l-ssec. The Celt (alone) got to the end of six furlongs in lmin. 21sec. A four-furlong spurt was allotted Bow Bells,' and the distance was traversed in 53 l-ssec. A pair of F. M'Manemin's—Monoline and Apellon— were tested over six furlongs, which they left behind in lmin. 20 l-osec. The former had an advantage in the weights, and , had a couple of lengths' advantage at the finish. The pair were ridden out. The southern two-year-old Nightwatch. had the assistance of Glenfinnan over five furlongs, which were covered in lmin. S •i-osec, the youngster finishing the better of the pair. Makura, alone, sprinted five furlongs in lmin. 10?ec., her stable companion, Tripoli, striding over tho same distance in. lmin. Vi'.i.c. Cloudy Dawn traversed a round in 2min. 9sec., the same stretch of ground taking Ambergris and Con'damine two-fifths of a second "longer to cover, the former finishing in front. Merry Roe, alone, sprinted four furlongs in 52sec., Paoli beating Blue Rose over the same distance in 53 4-ssec.

Antiphone easily held Toreador over sii furlongs, which occupied linin. 22sec. A trio—Scorch, Sea Pink, and Vestalwere associated over seven furlongs, which were covered in lmin. 38 3-osec, the firstnamed pair going easily in front of Vestal. Silverlyte, alone, sprinted five furlongs in lmin. 8 4-ssec., a* journey_ which Ventura and Jason covered in, lmin. 7sec., the-, fillv pleasing most. .. Don Quex and Reservoir ran a round in 2min/ 9 4-ssec, with the former going the better at the finish. Almeida sprinted five furlongs, the last 'four taking 52 4-ssec. Admiral Soult was going, fairly easily alongside Dido at the end of sis furlongs, the pair running the last five furlongs in lmin. 8 l-ssec. Duma, alone, galloped seven furlongs in lmin. 10 2-ssec., Monorail (H. Watson) going on a furlong further in lmin. 49 2-ssec. The. last seven furlongs took lmin. 34 3-ssec. Solus spurted- four furlongs in 55 1-oseo. Lady' Alicia finished the fast work by galloping five furlongs on the two-year-old track in lmin; 3 l-ssec.-After breakfast several heat showers fell, but did not affect-the tracks or interfere with the work! ' Porpito was first out, spurting four furlongs in 55 3-ssec: ■:■ Seaman, alone, - traversed a round in 2min. lOse'c. Lady Elziva. got the better of tho start in six furlongs from Overtime, and beat him at the finish in lmin. 21sec. A similar task-was allotted Master Wairiki and St. Lewis, the former beign under a pull. The journey occupied lmin. 25sec. The only ones to go from the new fivefurlongs post were Bluestone, Fuss,.and Miss Livonia: They finished in that order in lmin. 8 3-ssec. Marconi finished more strongly than Marshal M'Donald over five furlongs, in lmin. Usee. '

Bobrikoff, alone, took lmin. 11 2-ssec. for the samo task.

Six lengths separated Lloyds from Pyrmont at the end of a mile, run in lmin. 54 1-0920.

Glad Tidings, alone, was not hustled to get to the end of fouT furlongs in 56soc. Manurewa began more quickly and finished better than Aristocrat over' seven fnvloiiffs, run'in lmin. 34-see.

Lucille, with a light-weight, ran a fast half-mile in 49sec.

Zinnia finished better than Vic over four furlongs in 52 l-ssec, Decorate easily beating Miss Motion over a'.similar distance in 54sec, Miss Motion taking 50sec. Mary Anne sprinted five furlongs in lmin. 17sec., and a number of others also exercised. \ On the Tan. ' • The tan was in favour with a number of trainers, and a lot of useful work was registered on the track, which was in/fine order. . Goldsize covered a couple of rounds, spurting home. Eoyal Soult trotted a round.and then covered a round in,2min. 3sec, moving verv scratchily throughout. . . . Antoinette easily held;Soultikoff at the end of five furlongs in lmin. 8 3-ssec. Wee Olga (alone) cantered a round, and -then galloped a round "at top" in lmin. Msec. The stable companions—La Eeina and Bleriot—jumped off together at the .mile and a quarter.disc, and covered a little over u round, when they were pulled up. No time was taken. , Sphinx (alone) covered' a round in 2min. ■'.'■■

Waiorewa easily held Lady Gladstone at tho end of four furlongs in 53 3-ssec.

Santa Eosa and Advocate were companions over a round, which they ■ left, behind in lmin. 52sec., the cup candidate moving better than ho has done for some time.

The two Napier candidates for the bis Tace— Goldfindcr (L. Wilson) and Midnight Sun (H.-Watson)—trotted a round on the tan, and then galloped a round in lmin. 55.2-ssec. Both finished well, tho former, if anything, having the better of

it. Sedition (alone, with a lightweight up) covered a similar stretch of ground in lmin. SGstc.

After breakfast Miss Winsome' covered a couple of rounds, running the home seven furlongs in-lmin. 'Usee. Watchchairr ran- a round in lmin. sGsec, Tui Cakobau. beating_ Hnnakaha over a similar ionruey in 2min. lsec. Martcl, Mowbray, and Peg were restricted to steady pacing.

On the Sand. There was not a great amount of work registered oh the sand. .Jolie Fille easily.held Prince Merriwco over five furlongs, the last four taKing 52 3-sscc. ' • Vice-Admiral trotted and cantered during tho breakfast interval. First Wairiki galloped seven furlongs in lmin. 31 2-ssec.,:AVairiki Rose assisting over the last five.' ■ After breakfast Heyboy pleased, better than Eelinton oyer a round, in 2mm. 5 3-ssec, Bonnie Jean taking 2nnn. 7sec. for. the samo journey/ Nclius was too good for Miss Ada over a round, run in 2min. 2 2-sfcc, and a lot of others were also worked. Sorno Other Notes. 31. Hobbs reached Ellerslic last evening with Vice-Admiral,' Mowbray,' 'Martcl. and Peg, and tho quartet were on the track this morning, but were restricted to steady pacing. The three-year-old, Prince, Soult, is reported sore, and is not likely to be seen out at the forthcoming A.11.C. summer' meeting. ' Consequent on-his dead heat-with Futurity in'tho Dash Handicap on the opening day of the New Brighton meeting,

Wallace M. has'earned a feed, penalty for the Auckland Trotting Cup, which makes 'his'handicap BSec.
