WHAT THE BULGARIAN FIGHTS ON The successes of the Bulgarians in the Balkan War have served to direct attention onco more to tho "ninety-year milk," which is said by German medical men to be the secret of Bulgarian longevity and of tho physical prowess that King Ferdinand's victorious army has shown. Thcs milk, which is also known by its native Bulgarian name of "Maja-loug-houvt," is now prescribed in Germany for the relief of intestinal disorders and for- building up tho system generally. "Youg-hourt" is the Bulgarian national •beverage, and is drunk almost exclusively by the hardly peasants who have fought so well against the Turks. It is ordinary sweet milk diluted into a state of sourness by the mixture of native "youghourt" herbs, which are said to contain bact"ria that swiftly destroy any harmful germs they come in contact with.
