SWIMMING.
SWIFTS CLUB EACES. A fifty yards' swimming handicap, open to swimmers who cannot cover the 50 yards in less than 37sec, was got off, by the Swifts Club at Te Aro Baths last evening. The event, which drew eleven starters, resulted as follows:—W. Ellis (2sec.), 1; T. Woodcock- (scr.), 2; R. Grimmett (scr.), 3. Also started: E. Donovan (G»ec.), A. M. Farnell (lsec), L. Butler (2-sec), A. 0. Murdoch (scr.), F. C. Jones (lfccc), W. I'indlay (Sscc.), E. Vango (2 sec), A. Russell (lsec.;. Won by half a length,' a touch separating second and third. Time, 37sec.
