ASSOCIATION.
THE OTAGO CASE ENDED. Mr. C. E. Fordham presided.at a meeting of the New Zealand Football Association last evening. The following delegates, were also present:—Messrs. L. White (Canterbury), J. Lewis''(Wanganui), W. J. H. Roynolds (Poverty Bay), B. L. Salmon (secretary), and A.. Keir (assistant-secre-tary). . - , The South Canterbury.Association.wrote appealing against the disqualification of a player named Johnstone. It was decided that the matter could not Iks discussed, until, tho. South Canterbury Association Had paid their,- affilio.tion and other fees. These,. it was stated, are overdue. '. • The secretary reported that ho had,received no statement of the finances in connection with tho' Canterbury-Welling-ton match, played at Christchurch on September 16. It was decided that Can: terbury bo written to drawing their attention to this fact. What has como' -to -beVknown as -the "Otago appeal case" was finally disposed of last evening, when a resolution to the following effect was. carried unanimously:. —That the council, having, fully considered tho actions of. the Kaitangitd Club, it is of the opinion that such actions were open to suspicion, and this called for censure on tho club and officials for tho part which they had taken in the affair. The actions of the players 'in this case also called for censure. Seeing that tho Kaitangata Club .had lost the cup through playing the men in question, and had also forfeited - .CI as protest fee. tho council considers that this is sufficient punishment.
