NEW CLUB AT LTALL BAY. ' The newly-formed Lyall Bay Bowling, Toon-is, and Crormct Club was opened in fine weather on Saturday afternoon. Considering the extreme youth of the green, the playing area was very good indeed, and the visiting bowlers from city clubs had a most.enjoyable.afternoon's sport. : In welcoming the guests, the president (Mr:'.'J. K. Stansell) gave all the credit for-forming.the club to Mr. W. H. Jlor.rah, the secretary. The club had a total membership of 170. already.- The green was declared open by tho Mayor,(Mr. 1). M'Laren), and Mrs. Stansell was called upon/to throw up the first "jack." Afternoon' tea, was. daintily served by lady members' and; their friends. The results.of tho games vera:— Nowtown l'l iv.
