Mr. Thomas Kirker, postmaster, at Courtenay Place, is to retire on.superannuation at the end-of the yoaiv Ho has been in chargo of the Courtenay Placo post office over since it was opened. Mr. Kirker joined tho service in 1873, and has -10 years' service to his credit. He joined tho postal service in Wellington, and has spent most of his time in this citv, but has also been stationed ■in Christciiuroh, Wauganui, and Blenheim. Ho was in charge of the new Te Aro Post Office when it was opened. Subsequent to that he was officer-in-chargo at the Litchfield Street office (Christchurch), at Sumner, and in October, 1005..1 brought back to Wellington to take charge of tho Courtenay Place office, which has done largo and growing business. , Mr. G.
